About Me
I am a primary care physician at Memorial Healthcare System where I care for patients with a wide array of medical conditions. These include chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and mental health issues as well as acute medical conditions such as urinary infections, respiratory infections and injuries. I also practice preventative medicine providing annual wellness visits, school physicals and employment physicals.
I was initially drawn to medicine as a teenager when I remember accompanying my parents to my grandparents' medical appointments and hospitalizations. Although I did not understand the medical details at the time, I do remember admiring the empathy and compassion that doctors provided to my family. Coming from a family of immigrants, my family experienced barriers to care such as challenges with language, navigating the healthcare system and financial limitations. Now, as a doctor, I focus on helping my patients overcome these challenges.
As a family medicine physician, I enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients. I love being able to enter a patient's room knowing their story and having the privilege to care for multiple family members who place their trust in my care. I strive to be a source of reassurance for them in challenging times and always look to form a partnership that includes them in the decision-making process.
Prior to medical school, I completed a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. I also helped create a telehealth program during the COVID-19 pandemic at my previous employer, at a federally qualified health center in Buffalo, New York.
