About Me
I am a general surgeon at Memorial Healthcare System. I have served the South Florida community for more than 23 years, providing surgical treatment for hernias, gallbladder concerns and other medical conditions. I also specialize in laparoscopic procedures.
My grandfather inspired me to become a surgeon. He was a tailor and a talented handyman. As a young boy, I enjoyed sitting with him and learning to sew or assisting with one of his many projects. One day, he commented that surgeons have a unique ability to fix and solve problems in the human body. It piqued my interest and led me to exploring a career in medicine and specializing in surgery.
Now as a surgeon, I have the ability to address debilitating problems that are interfering with my patients’ lives. And with the field of medicine constantly changing – whether it be due to new patients, technology or our knowledge of how the human body works – I am presented with new challenges and opportunities to make a difference for someone in need.
In addition to surgery, I enjoy helping patients improve their overall health and fitness through the incorporation of a healthy diet and active lifestyle. I myself am very active and enjoy pushing myself to be my best. I have played football and rugby, and continue to compete in body building competitions. I offer my expertise and experience to help patients make changes that enable them to feel and be their best.
I'm also involved in teaching the next generation of physicians and surgeons. I have taught laparoscopic surgery to medical residents and am an associate professor of surgery at Nova Southeastern University.
I also hold various hospital leadership positions where I help to ensure that our health system continues to meet the needs of those we serve.
