About Me
I am a general surgeon at Memorial Healthcare System. I specialize in treating patients with intra-abdominal pathologies including those with cholelithiasis (gallstones), hernias, disorders of the small intestine and reflux disease (GERD).
Having completed specialty training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, I have had very good experience with and a keen interest in the treatment of achalasia, adrenal gland tumors and splenic abnormalities. I also perform other surgeries for soft tissue tumors.
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine at a very young age, when I witnessed my 8-year-old cousin suffer from leukemia and then be cured with chemotherapy. I think medicine -- and particularly surgery -- is more than a profession; it’s a calling. As a surgeon, I love that my work can have an immediate and dramatic impact on someone’s life.
I believe that the foundation of a successful patient-doctor relationship rests upon three core principles: honesty, compassion and trust. I offer my patients an honest assessment of their condition along with tailored treatment options, but ensure that all discussions are held in a compassionate manner and consider each patient’s unique life circumstances.
I feel fortunate to have found a career where I have the ability to not just perform impactful work daily, but also have the opportunity to interact on a very personal level with my patients. Improving someone’s life and seeing them recover is hands-down the best part of the job.
