About Me
I am a medical oncologist and hematologist at Memorial Cancer Institute, where I have worked for nearly three decades. In addition to caring for patients, I also served as chief of the Division of Medical Oncology for Memorial Healthcare System from 1995 to 2002.
I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine but an experience with a mentor inspired me to pursue a career in cancer care. He was a medical oncologist, and while shadowing him, I witnessed how he helped patients medically and supported them socially and, through a combination of the two, impacted their lives.
As an oncologist, I also act as a family physician because I work closely with my patients and their family members. These relationships can be intense, as we sometimes see our patients very frequently in the midst of treatment and do all we can to help them deal with their disease. Our goal is to deliver the best cancer treatments possible and ensure everyone feels well cared for.
