About Me
Medical Director, Vascular Surgery, Memorial Hospital West and Memorial Hospital Miramar
I am a vascular surgeon at Memorial Healthcare System. I care for patients with a variety of vascular diseases, including peripheral artery disease, carotid stenosis and stroke prevention, abdominal and peripheral aneurysms, vein disease (such as pelvic congestion syndrome and venous compression as well as varicose vein diseases), thoracic outlet syndrome and end-stage renal disease. I have more than 25 years of experience conducting various surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques. This includes Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR), endovascular and hybrid revascularization procedures, endovascular aneurysm repairs and minimally invasive spine access surgery.
As a vascular surgeon, I love the immediate impact surgery can have on patients’ lives. These procedures can help relieve symptoms and reduce their risk for cardiac events and stroke. At Memorial, our patient-centered care philosophy ensures we prioritize our patients' needs in everything we do. While we offer the latest technology and surgical options, we always try to maximize nonsurgical medical interventions first. As a team, we closely monitor our patients’ overall health, particularly considering factors that can impact their vascular health, such as cholesterol and blood pressure.
I strongly believe in educating patients and promoting disease prevention, whether through direct patient interaction or community outreach.
As the medical director of vascular surgery, I am passionate about organizational management and improving patient care delivery. I am certified in healthcare quality management, focusing on improving systems for quality outcomes. The vascular surgery team at Memorial provides excellent, state-of-the-art comprehensive vascular care, and I am proud to be a part of this wonderful group of surgeons and providers. Our entire team is dedicated to providing the best care to our patients in our community.
I also enjoy training and mentoring medical providers new to the field, whether medical students, surgeons or nurses. I am actively involved in teaching on a local and national level.
