About Me
Associate Medical Director, Pediatric Palliative Medicine
I am a pediatric palliative care physician at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I work with pediatric patients throughout the hospital, many of whom have serious and/or chronic, life-limiting illnesses that could benefit from the extra support our team provides. Many patients are often being cared for in the cardiac, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, as well as the hematology/oncology floors.
I became interested in palliative care after working in a Patient-Centered Medical Home during my pediatric residency, which was a primary care clinic for medically complex pediatric patients. I loved working with these patients and their families and knew that I wanted to focus my career on providing care and support for this special subset of patients.
As a palliative care provider, I work with patients and families during some of the most stressful times in their lives. I take time to really get to know them which enables me to address their needs and concerns that may go otherwise unnoticed.
There is nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than building relationships and connections with my patients and their families and seeing how the support and care we provide makes a difference during such a challenging time.
