The Rebound follows the underdog journey of the Miami Heat Wheels, a wheelchair basketball team, in their quest for a national title, despite the team’s dwindling resources. Three adaptive athletes rally their team towards the title while striving for their own dreams on and off the court.
"We are excited to host this screening of this powerful documentary," said Ray Shipman, manager of Memorial Rehabilitation Institute's Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program. "The film mirrors our mission to help our patients go beyond and reach their maximum potential."
The critical recognition for The Rebound proves the world and mainstream media is ready for stories that represent diversity and give a voice to an underrepresented minority - the differently abled.
